IN BRIEF...
If you're a regular
reader of Artcymru you may well have noticed that we failed
to update the web site on Friday the 28th of June. This disgraceful
omission was not an oversight, or a lapse in concentration,
rather the inevitable result of our two-day excursion to the
opening of the "Dreaming Awake"
exhibition in London.
For those of you unfamiliar with the "Dreaming Awake"
exhibition you can read the full report within our article
archive. However, to make it short - the exhibition is collaboration
between Keith Bayliss, Jaroslav Mykisa, Roger Moss, Tony Goble,
Iwan Bala and Clive Hicks-Jenkins.
It all began back
in the last millennium (1999), and the exhibition has now
finally returned to the UK after having spent several months
in the Czech Republic. All of the participating artists work
separately, but are united in their friendship with fellow
exhibitor Czeck born Jaroslav Mykisa, an architectural stained
glass artist now living and working in Swansea.

Caroline Williams (long-suffering wife of our editor Nigel
Williams) at the opening at the Czech embassy
Both Bernard Mitchell,
an exhibitor within "Dreaming Awake," and I, had
invites to the opening of the show at the Czech Embassy in
Kensington Palace Gardens in London, and therefore, because
the trip was an overnight stay, the Artcymru site was neglected
for a day.
However, it was
all worth while with the opening being a really good night
with Keith Bayliss, Jaroslav Mykisa, Roger and Sally Moss,
Bernard and Anne Mitchell, Tony Goble, Nigel and Caroline
Williams and the author David Greenslade being amongst the
Welsh representatives present, along with many of the Czech
refugees who were housed in Wales during the second world
war.
The exhibition
was warmly received and some decent networking established
for possible future shows.
