Geoffrey
James Selway was born and spent his childhood in Tonmawr, in
the Pelenna valley. He studied art for three years at Swansea
College of Art and later at Trinity College, Carmarthen. He
became the Head of an Art Department in the Midlands and later
Head of a highly successful Art Department in South London Secondary
School. There he lead a team of tutors, teaching students to
an advanced level.

He exhibited his
work in various galleries in the United Kingdom and Spain
and his work has been purchased by private collectors in the
United Kingdom, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany and
Ireland.
He has carried out various commissions including a large painting
of the Annunciation for the Roman Catholic National Shrine
at Walsingham, England.
He moved to the
Barcelona area of Spain early in 2001 and has continued his
work using many aspects of the Catalunya and Spain as a basis
for his paintings. James paints with a variety of media including,
oil, acrylic and water colour and his subject matter is also
extensive and includes landscapes, city scenes and figures.
