"Tree of Life" 3
Having enjoyed handling fabrics as a child, I had the opportunity to use other materials; clay, paint and constructions while studying Art, Craft and Design at Trinity College, Carmarthen. I graduated in 2000.
My work is based on a number of themes. Using flowers and the landscapes of West Wales as a catalyst, I enjoy reflecting my love of colour, shape and surfaces in paint and other media. The rhythmical shape of the flower is extended to the female form. These organic shapes reflect the inner self, the breath in our bodies and the aura that surrounds us. |

Whilst developing my painting skills, I enjoy using a variety of other media: textiles, beads, waxes, metals and hand made paper. Being experimental in my approach, I relish playing with new media.
The small mixed media series, explores the cross cultural image of the Tree of Life. |

My current work, entitled “Celebration” and “Coloured Symbols,” evokes the symbolic meaning of shapes and colours crossing both Celtic and Asian cultures; it is a celebration of the ongoing cycle of nature.
