The
landscape paintings of Thomas Spencer vibrate with bold
colours.

Thomas Spencer,
like many artists, came to art relatively late in life.
Concerned with the plight of art and artists in Wales he
set about creating an art group, in the Bargoed area of
South Wales, to attempt to redress some of the problems
encountered.
Spencer is a self-taught and extremely motivated artist.
His work is original, popular and receiving increased attention
at present.
The quality of the work shown above was recently recognised
by the art establishment with acceptance to this years Royal
Academy Summer Exhibition in London.
About
the Artist
Spencer's career
as an artist really began in 1995, although he has painted
with passion since the age of twelve. He spent most of his
life in a service industry, until forced to retire through
health grounds.
His working methods
are varied and span many mediums. Perhaps the overwhelming
impression gained from his works is that of movement.
His time now
is devoted to studying colour mixing and the lives and working
practices of artists in the canon of Fine Art history and
contemporary painters of interest.
Thomas Spencer
is a founder member of the ARTISTS COMBINED group,
based in Bargoed, Caerphilly, along with four colleagues.
The group is extremely active, with exhibitions mainly within
the locality but have also shown in Worthing in Sussex.
